Kick-off Event was a Hit
The BiotechLikemind Kick-off event was finally held [after being postponed twice] on March 28th at Japanese bar Itadaki, located on Boston's historic Newbury street. Despite all odds, the event was a hit with some twenty five pioneer-participants. 'Pioneer' because they experienced first-hand the concept of BiotechLikemind and had the opportunity to get involved in honing it. The motto of the event was "You @ BiotechLikemind - Get Involved!"
We welcomed an interesting mix of guests that represented various aspects of biotech: the science, startups, consulting, business development, drug discovery, IP etc. The guests were checked in and given name tags. Later, I was able to interact with the guests on one-to-one basis and tell the story of BiotechLikemind.

I found great enthusiasm in the BiotechLikemind concept and also willingness to get involved. Many of us agreed that the biotech sector has expanded in size, and there is need for a more specialized inner entrepreneurial community that focuses on startup companies and innovation in particular. Feedback cards were distributed to the guests for their ideas and suggestions. These were the questions:
1- Can you suggest ideas and themes for future events?
2- Would you like to be a team member?
3- Would you like to participate in BiotechLikemind blog writing?
Some guests offered support that will bring focus and quality to future BiotechLikemind events. Beside plenty of suggestions for question 1, I have six 'yes' answers to question 2, and four 'yes' answers to question 3. Overall, it was an inspiring start and an interesting event, however there is room for improvement.

Stay tuned for the updates, as we are planning the next big event... And hey, get involved in shaping BiotechLikemind - we need your feedback. See you soon at the next event.
